16 Notable Third Party Twitter Applications

Since Twitter has kept their programming interface open to the development community, the landscape of third-party Twitter applications is constantly shifting.  Some of these application are useful and worth your time.  Many are not.  Rather than provide a long list of the hundreds of applications out there, we’d like to do a little filtering for you.  So we’re giving you a list of the Twitter add-ons that are worth talking about.

Today it’s coming to you via a blog post.  We’re still considering the best way to keep this updated list in front of you.  Do we keep updating this post even though it will fall off the front page of our blog fairly quickly.  Maybe we tweet when new applications are added to this list?  Would you subscribe to an RSS that consisted solely of brief synopses of Twitter applications?  We could also add a “static” page to our website that you can come to whenever you want to check the current list.  Let us know how you’d prefer to see our top picks in the comments.

  1. I am following someone who is probably going to get an unfollow from me because he appears to be addicted to releasing the SAME info over and over on http://www.futuretweet.com. While his advice is useful, resending it often, as in more than once a week, is too much. Whatever application individuals select to use, keep in mind your audience, their needs, preferences and your marekting goals.
